Hi! My name is Buddy (though you can call me Muddy...)

I have fallen on a bit of bad luck. And I am in need of new people.

See, despite the fact that my old people really, really, really loved me they decided they couldn't keep me anymore. My human sister (who's kinda little) fell on me and I got scared and I bit her. Not hard! I promise. I was just warning her, you know, as dogs do, but like I said, she's kinda little and not really a dog at all. My people, they understand these things, but this was the second time I thought with my teeth instead of with my head. So, although I am not an aggressive dog, my old people, they just can't take the risk that I might do it again, maybe worse next time.

I guess I understand, and my dad was really really sad about taking me to the vet. He thought I might have to lose my life. But after hearing my story, the vet saw that I'm really a good dog, I just need a home where the people are bigger. My dad was still very sad to see leave me at the clinic, but he's happier that I still have a chance.

So, a little about me...

I love to play ball.

Dad had adopted me from the shelter a few years ago and I was then treated at the vet's clinic for heartworms. I've been heartworm free ever since and am current on heartworm and flea and tick preventative as well as vaccines. I am neutered and about 6 years old. And I have a microchip.

Oh, and I love to play ball.

People say I look like a Setter mix, but maybe there's a little Pointer in there (I like to point at birds. And play ball.) You'll have to excuse the haircut, the hair dresser cut it a little short last time. But when it grows back, it shouldn't be too long, medium length maybe. I've been generally a very healthy dog, but I do occasionally have seizures. Don't worry, it doesn't stop me from playing ball. I'm not currently on any medication for it, but may need to soon, as my dad told the vet that I've been having them a little more frequently lately.

I'd prefer to have a house all to myself, but I think I can get along with other dogs who aren't too pushy. I haven't met any cats, so I can't say if we'd get along,. Do you think cats would play ball with me?

I'm very smart and pick up on new routines quickly. I respond to "no" well - I don't like making people mad. I'm crate trained and house trained and know basic commands (most of the time). I am happy staying in a fenced in yard, but I'd really rather spend my time with the people. I have a lot of energy and do need space to run - otherwise, how are we going to play ball?

So I'm not necessarily asking to come to YOUR house (unless you want me to) but if you'll put the word out that Buddy's looking for some new people, I'd greatly appreciate it.

An make sure you tell them that I love to play ball. Did I mention that?

Thanks,

Buddy

Yellow Lab mix

Hi, my name is Charlie!

I am a handsome Lab mix with tons of personality! The vet says I’m probably about 2 1/2 years old. I’m current on all my shots and heartworm preventive, neutered and micro-chipped. The vet also says I do have a touch of hip dysplasia, but with plenty of exercise and some special treats, I don’t have any problems.

My current pet-parents adopted me from an animal shelter last October, but I just can’t seem to get along with my brother, a Corgi-Australian Cattle Dog mix. So much to her dismay, my mom is looking for a new forever home for me.

I’m a sweet, lovable big guy, weighing in at about 65 lbs. I am housebroken, crate trained and know some basic commands (sit, shake), but need to work on my leash manners. I can’t help but get excited when I see birds or squirrels! Sometimes, especially with new people, I get too excited and jump up, but I just want to say hi!

I love to play with my sister and chase her around the yard and my mom thinks I would get along with other males as long as they aren’t too dominant. I’m great with kids, but I’ve never been around cats, so I don’t know – I would probably chase them cause I like to run!

I’m still pretty young and chew on stuff I shouldn’t when I can’t find any toys, so keep my Kong handy. I need a family with as much love and energy as I have!

Treeing Walker Hound

Kiwi is a wonderful Treeing Walker Hound with a sweet disposition. She gets along well with other dogs and is good with older children- she is a large dog and may be too much for young children.

Kiwi knows her basic commands (sit, stay, down, and to "dance" for a biscuit)! As an added bonus, she's also housebroken! She loves hiking, going to the lake, and playing in the river. She has a well developed sense of smell and enjoys tracking small animals. She might be a good candidate for recreational search and rescue training (see K9 Solutions for classes)!

Kiwi is looking for a family with an active lifestyle that enjoys regular exercise, either with walks, running, or hiking. A fenced yard is a must so she can enjoy the outdoors safely. If you're looking for a well-mannered companion and are willing to give her the exercise outlet she needs, take a closer look at Kiwi!

Remember that Kiwi was bred for hunting. Games that encourage her to use her nose, such as "hide and seek", will be a lot of fun for her and her family! She is a gentle natured dog and will do almost anything for praise and companionship!

For more information about Kiwi, please contact her current caretaker at (919) 623-5674.

Adoption Fee is $50
