This little girl's original name was Lady Bug. Unfortunately her previous owners called her "Bug" and she comes to that name. After spending just 10 minutes with her, I would renamed her LOVE Bug, because that is exactly what she is.

She is a little overweight - but perfect in every other aspect. She is great with children and other canines. She loves to play and cuddle with both (kids and dogs), is housebroken, great on a leash (my four year old walks her), and is very obedient.

Lady Bug is extremely affectionate and would stay in your lap or arms all day long if you let her. She is not a needy or whiny dog - so if you are busy, she will simply lie close to you, snuggle down in her bed, or play with the other doggies.

Lady gets along with canines of all sizes. When the larger dogs (50-75 lb) are playing chase in the yard, she will find strategic locations to wait and dash in and out of their game. With those her own size, she will simply romp and play.

We don't know the exact reason she was given up - some sort of weird girlfriend boyfriend moving in and out scenario. Oh well - their loss will definitely be someone else's gain!!

Mari is one of HEART's "hard luck" cases; animals who have come into our program because of the indifference of humans.

Mari was abandoned: taken to an unfamiliar neighborhood, and left outside in the middle of winter to fend and find food for herself. Her foster mom was training for a marathon and kept getting sidetracked every time she "ran" across the dog. Realizing she would never be able to train with such a pitiful distraction facing her each day, she finally took the dog home with her - naming her Mari (short for marathon).

Mari is an affectionate and loyal companion. She loves to be around people and is content to just hang out with the family. Mari is housebroken and crate trained. She is easy going and loves to have her belly rubbed. She walks well on a leash and loves long leisurely walks or hikes in the woods. She is also good around cats - always a plus for us cat lovers!

Mari would be a great addition to the household or family that doesn't have the time or desire to go through puppyhood and all the training it requires.

Mari has no behavioral issues and is a pleasure to have around.

If you are interested in adopting Mari, please fill out an application and send it in to us. If you have specific questions about the pet, please include them in an email with your application. You do not need to sign the application at this time. Only completed applications will be considered. Please answer all questions and include all phone numbers.

Mystery is a playful dog who loves to fetch and chase her toys. She also enjoys a good game of soccer or tug. Mystery is very friendly with adults and loves older children. Her exuberance is often overwhelming for very little children who don't have much experience with dogs. She definitely loves belly rubs and looks forward to long romps with her foster parents and cozy evenings cuddling on the couch while watching TV.

Mystery has a lot of energy and will need a fenced yard where she can run and play safely. She is used to dashing in and out. At night she sleeps in a crate, but would prefer to snuggle in the people bed. Mystery is very affectionate and will be a wonderful companion for the right family.

If you are interested in adopting Mystery, please fill out an application and send it in to us. If you have specific questions about the pet, please include them in an email with your application. Wilbur is a silly boy looking for some not-so-serious caretakers! He's goofy and sweet! He's not too good at walking on a leash, he's not too good about leaving the cats alone and he thinks lawn mowers are his personal play thing (a dangerous idea for a dog!). He barks at trucks as they drive by and he chews on just about anything.

On the other hand, Wilbur is attentive, gentle, loving, and loyal. He thinks his foster mom's pool is just great. Well, he thinks the first few steps in the water are great. He's not so sure about the actual swimming part! He barks alarms when there seems to be something amiss and he loves to play!

Wilbur is going to need a bit of work on his basic manners like walking well on a leash. He knows sit, but that's about it. Just as every other dog needs to be taught how to live in the world, Wilbur does, too! He's also make a great dog to teach carting and to take hiking with his own saddle bags! He's going to make someone a fantastic friend!

If you are interested in adopting Wilber, please fill out an application and send it in to us. If you have specific questions about the pet, please include them in an email with your application. You do not need to sign the application at this time. Only completed applications will be considered. Please answer all questions and include all phone numbers.
